Asia Asset Management once again hosted a cocktail and awards presentation
dinner for all 2004 winners at the Foreign Correspondents' Club on March 1
2005. More than 100 representatives from fund houses and banks showed up for
the evening's event.
The response to the awards competition was strong and entries were received
from fund management firms and banks from around the region including managers
in China, Taiwan, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong. According to
Anthony Moody, a special advisor to Asia Asset Management, the quality of
submissions for the 2004 awards has improved from the previous year.
Numbers wise, submissions have also picked up, reflecting the greater level of
interest in the competition. For a number of categories, he noted that
competition was tough and there were a number of submissions for the same award
that had almost equal merit. "I think it also reflects the growing
sophistication of the marketplace in general," he added.
The awards also recognise the achievements of fund managers for their
charitable causes and endeavours in the region. The pictures on the following
pages capture some of the winners with their respective awards presented by
Anthony Moody and Rhonda Lepsch, the chief executive officer, Asia of DST
International, the sponsor of the event.
