The number of high net worth individuals (HNWIs) in the Asia Pacific has increased by 1.6% year on year, to reach 3.37 million, surpassing North American for the first time, according to a report released by RBC Wealth Management and Capgemini on September 19. The growth rate is double the global growth rate for 2011.

Taiwan’s Labor Insurance Fund (LIF) announced on September 25 that foreign fixed income and equities managers PIMCO, Alliance Bernstein, and Wellington, all with pension funds mandated in November 2009, saw accumulated pension profits rise to US$434 million, for a gain of 24.12%, as of end-August.
