Newly emerging ‘safe havens’ still show developing market risks

Transparency and corporate governance remain key concerns
While emerging market economies increasingly display safe haven features, such as stable long-term growth and liquidity, investors should double check their fasteners before diving in. With pains from the global financial crisis lingering in the West, it’s hardly surprising that investors are shifting toward such protracted growth. But the pitfalls must be acknowledged as these emerging economies navigate the development process and a global economy undergoing profound change at breakneck speed.
