Australians are justifiably proud of their nation’s world-renowned superannuation, or retirement funding, system. Australia’s A$1.4 trillion (US$1.47 trillion) superannuation pool represents the world’s fourth-largest retirement funding base – despite Australia being nowhere near the fourth-largest economy in the world.
