AMP Capital has appointed Andy Peng to the new role of portfolio manager/analyst in the Asian equities team based in Hong Kong. He began work at the company last Friday (March 8).

Mr. Peng will cover the telecoms, utilities and healthcare sectors (Pan-Asia) and consumer discretionary sector (ex-Greater China).

Head of Asia ex-Greater China Jonathan Reoch said: “I am delighted to have Andy on board. He brings good experience across a range of sectors and will complement the breadth of skills already in the team. The team is now fully resourced and we are looking forward to Andy helping us build on the early progress we’ve made so far following the team move to Hong Kong.”

Mr. Peng previously spent three years as an investment analyst covering Asian equities at Ward Ferry Management in Hong Kong and prior to that he spent two years at Goldman Sachs Capital Partners in San Francisco as an analyst focused on the evaluation of technology startups.

AMP Capital relocated its Asian equities team to Hong Kong in September 2012 to manage the companies Pan-Asia and China A-share portfolios. It has now hired four experienced portfolio managers/analysts and moved two existing team members to the region to build out the new team.
