BNP Paribas Investment Partners is partnering with CFA Institute to launch the Claritas Investment Certificate – the latest professional programme from CFA Institute – across BNP Paribas Investment Partners offices worldwide.
BNP Paribas Investment Partners is a long-standing supporter of the CFA Institute portfolio of educational programmes and is one of the first organisations to adopt it as a global standard for its staff. Launches took place across their offices worldwide throughout March, April and May with key speakers from CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals, presenting alongside key internal stakeholders.
In Asia Pacific, BNP Paribas Investment Partners is working closely with the regional offices of CFA Institute and MDA Training, a leading international provider of training for the financial services industry, to deliver a blended asset management learning pathway for its APAC staff. Combining bespoke tutor-led training, lunch talks by internal experts and the Claritas curriculum and assessment, this multi-modal approach ensures participants develop a regionally relevant yet international understanding of the industry and the investment partners business.
Alex Ng, CIO, Asia Pacific for BNP Paribas Investment Partners, said: “We are encouraged to see a broad spectrum of our colleagues across Asia Pacific sign up for the Claritas programme. Ranging from emerging markets such as India and China, to developed market locations such as Australia. Interest was not restricted to just a particular function with functions from client servicing and operations to finance and secretarial support staff represented. Hence Claritas together with the CFA programme have permeated through the entire organisational eco-system. To top that off, the supplementary workshops from MDA training and in-house lunch and learn sessions featuring our own investment and other professionals bring a local/regional relevance to the programme.”
Paul Smith, managing director of CFA Institute in Asia Pacific, said: “We are delighted to see the adoption of our Claritas curriculum and assessment as the international core of such a thoughtful and rigorous learning process, one specifically designed to meet the needs of BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ Asia Pacific professionals. We think this is an excellent example of how global organisations can ensure that international standards of knowledge, ethics and professionalism are delivered through the focused effectiveness of regional learning and development delivery frameworks. Serving BNP Paribas Investment Partners by working collaboratively with MDA training has offered CFA’s institutional partnerships division an opportunity to demonstrate its ability to meet the needs of our global clients by working effectively with their regional centres of excellence. BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ approach to ensuring its professionals share a common global lexicon and collaborative professional culture is one which has recognised the value that all its people bring to the process of learning.”
The Claritas Investment Certificate provides candidates with a thorough understanding of how the investment industry works and their professional responsibilities within it, thus representing a new international education and ethics standard across the financial services sector. The new programme is accessible to a wide range of professionals working with investment decision makers in functions such as operations, administration, IT, HR, marketing, sales, compliance and customer service. It is a self-study course which requires between 80 to 100 hours of study over a six-month period and is made up of seven modules, covering the industry, tools, instruments, structure, controls, client methods, and ethics, culminating in a single self-scheduled, online exam at a proctored testing centre. On successful completion of the examination, candidates will be awarded a certificate of knowledge.
