Fan Yonghong to take up key position at China Life Asset Management

Fan Yonghong, former CEO of China Asset Management Co (China AMC), is reportedly set to join China Life Asset Management as CIO and vice president.
According to the Economic Observer, Mr. Fan’s appointment will come into play on January 1, 2014.
Mr. Fan is an iconic figure in the Mainland fund industry. He was at the helm of China AMC between 1998 and 2013 before resigning from the firm in June. Prior to joining China AMC, Mr. Fan held various senior positions at China Construction and Huaxia Securities.
China Life Asset Management is an affiliate of China Life Insurance (Group), which was among the first batch of Mainland insurance asset management companies. The company has total AUM of close to 1 trillion RMB (US$158.7 billion).
