Chinese VC firm Qiming appoints new partners

Chinese venture capital firm Qiming Venture Partners has announced the appointment of two new partners.

Kuantai Yeh will focus on investments in the IT sector for Shanghai-based Qiming, while Jing Wu will join as a partner focussing on the internet and consumer industries.

Mr. Yeh has more two decades of experience working in venture capital, investment banking and high-tech, including senior roles at Highland Capital Partners and Intel Capital. His portfolio includes companies in sectors including semiconductors, software and mobile internet, some of which have been successfully IPO’d. 

Ms. Wu has 12 years under her belt at venture capital and high tech companies, including stints as vice president at CITIC Private Equity and investment director at Shanda Capital. She will be based at Qiming’s Beijing office.

Earlier this year, the company hired GGV Capital and Venture TDF veteran Helen Wong for its internet and consumer practice.

Founded in 2006, Qiming currently manages six funds with US$1.6 billion in assets. It focuses on early-stage investments in sectors including technology, healthcare and cleantech. It has offices in Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong, Suzhou and Seattle.
