Eurex Exchange has appointed Markus Georgi to take over from Paul Lo as chief representative of its Hong Kong office.

Mr. Georgi’s responsibilities include the further development of Eurex’s business in the region, in particular Hong Kong, India and the Middle East. He leads a team of seven and reports to Roland Schwinn, head of business development, Asia and Middle East for Eurex and Deutsche Börse. Mr. Schwinn is based in Singapore.

“Since the establishment of our Hong Kong office in 2009, Paul Lo played a key role in developing our business in this important financial centre. I would like to thank him for his achievements,” commented Mr. Schwinn. He added: “Markus Georgi has more than 12 years of experience in our industry that spans the brokerage, exchange and clearing business, as well as ISV solutions. Based in Asia since 2008, he brings in-depth knowledge about the region to his new role. He has also worked for Deutsche Börse and Eurex in the past and thus knows our organisation very well. I welcome Markus in his new role.”

Eurex established offices in Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo in 2009. Currently around 20 direct exchange participants and trading locations are connected to Eurex Exchange from Asia. The exchange operates two access points – one in Hong Kong and one in Singapore.
