Nikhil Srinivasan is Generali’s new group CIO

Effective February 2013, Nikhil Srinivasan was appointed new group chief investment officer at Generali, the firm announced on Monday (March 18).

Before joining Generali, Mr. Srinivasan had worked at the Allianz Group since 2003, holding several investment functions in Asia and in Munich, Germany. His last position was as group CIO of Allianz Investment Management and a member of Allianz Group's international executive committee.

Mr Srinivasan is a Singapore national and attended Cambridge University and Harvard’s Kennedy School. He is also a member of the Generali group management committee and chairman of Generali Investments Europe.

The Generali Group is one of Europe’s largest insurance providers and the biggest European life insurer, with 2012 total premium income of 70 billion euros (US$90.7 billion) and assets under management of 490 billion euros.

With 80,000 employees worldwide and 65 million clients in more than 60 countries, the group occupies a leadership position on West European markets and an increasingly important place on markets in Central Eastern Europe and Asia.
