HSBC Securities Services (HSS) has appointed Ganesh Iyer as senior vice president, market and product development. He is tasked with leading the development and deployment of HSS's latest broker dealer product solutions in Singapore.

Mr. Iyer was previously based out of Dubai where he was vice president, product and market development, responsible for the Middle East. In this position, he led the development of HSS’s custody and treasury services products in the Middle East and North Africa. Mr. Iyer has 14 years of overall industry experience.

Mr. Iyer will report to Tony Lewis, head of HSS Singapore, locally and functionally to Colin Brooks, global head of sub custody and clearing. He will also work very closely with Nico Torchetti, global head of product development for the firm’s sub custody business.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Lewis said: "Ganesh's appointment is further evidence of HSBC's commitment to providing first class securities services to the broker dealer community and strengthens HSBC's presence in the local market.

"Over the past few months we have seen a notable uptick in interest from the broker dealer community looking to establish and extend their relationships with HSBC in Singapore. We are now seeing clear signs that the outsourcing trends we have seen in the asset manager sector for some time are now beginning to feature in the broker dealer sector."
