Henderson makes key Singapore retail hire

Henderson Global Investors has appointed Wong Hur Ming as head of retail sales, Singapore, reporting to Mabel Chan, head of wholesale distribution, Asia. Mr. Wong joined Henderson on August 14 from Deutsche Asset Management, where he was deputy head of intermediary sales, Southeast Asia mutual funds distribution.
Mr. Wong will cover Singapore and Malaysia to drive the sales in the retail channel, which includes private banks, consumer banks, insurance companies and IFA companies.
Alex Henderson, managing director, Asia Pacific says: “Growing our business in Asia is one of Henderson’s key priorities over the next five years. We plan to grow the business several fold and to do that, we are committed to building our resource of people, products and operations.”
Henderson Global Investors has been operating in Asia since 1995 with AUM of US$5 billion (as at June 30, 2013) and six offices in the region. Singapore is its regional hub for managing investments, identifying new business opportunities and attracting new funds.
