Hong Kong’s Private Wealth Management Association (PWMA) has announced the appointment of Kathryn Shih as the chairman of the executive committee, effective June 16 following the departure of Allen Lo, who also retired as country head and chief executive of UBS Hong Kong in April.
CEO of UBS Wealth Management in Asia Pacific and also group managing director of UBS, Ms. Shih joined UBS in 1987, and was appointed CEO of UBS Wealth Management, Asia Pacific in 2002. Her extensive knowledge of wealth management in the region makes her ideally placed to build upon the strong foundation established by her predecessor and maintain momentum in the further development of the wealth management industry in Hong Kong.
The PWMA is a Hong Kong-based voluntary association with 27 member banks. Its main objective is to better position Hong Kong as the private wealth management hub in the region.
