Standard Chartered makes senior appointments for custody platform

Standard Chartered has appointed Alan Naughton as global product head, investors & intermediaries, transaction banking, and Andrew Hempshall as global head of solution delivery & service, investors & intermediaries, transaction banking. Both Mr. Naughton and Mr. Hempshall are based in Singapore.

Mr. Naughton reports to George Nast, global head, product management, transaction banking. In this role, Mr. Naughton will lead the Bank’s product team for Standard Chartered’s entire suite of securities services offerings, covering custody and funds services, broker clearing, and agency services.   

Mr. Naughton brings with him a wealth of banking and finance experience. He spent most of his banking career at JP Morgan, where in the last 20 years, he focused on investor and fund services across many regions include Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. Immediately prior to joining Standard Chartered, Mr. Naughton was the head of commercial management for global funds services. 

Reporting to Russell Graham, global head of solution delivery & service, Mr. Hempshall will be responsible for the Bank’s solutions delivery and service proposition for securities services globally.

He joins Standard Chartered from State Street Corporation where he was the global relationship manager responsible for developing strategic alliances with clients and identifying innovative and integrated solutions to address clients’ needs. Before that, Mr. Hempshall also held senior client servicing and securities lending roles at other financial institutions.

Commenting on Mr. Naughton’s appointment, Mr. Nast said, “I am very pleased to welcome Alan to the team. Mr. Graham said of Mr. Hempshall’s appointment, “I believe that with Andrew’s flair in client servicing and management, he will complement the team’s innovative solutions development and add immensely to our solutions delivery process.”

These appointments follow Standard Chartered’s recent launch of an integrated direct and regional custody platform for its investor and intermediaries clients, testifying to the bank’s commitment to continue building out our capabilities to meet our clients’ needs.
