ING IM Singapore appoints Shek Chee Seng as CEO

Shek Chee Seng has been appointed chief executive officer of ING Investment Management Singapore and head of client group Asia (ex Japan) of ING IM International with effect from August 1. Mr. Shek succeeds Steven Billiet, who is leaving to pursue a career outside ING.
Mr. Shek has over 20 years of experience in different leadership roles with various asset managers. He joins ING Investment Management Singapore from CIMB Securities (Singapore) where he was vice president, retail dealing. Prior to that he was CEO at Reliance Asset Management in Singapore and before that, CEO at CITIC-Prudential Fund Management in China. He was also CEO at HSBC Asset Management (Singapore) and ABN AMRO Asset Management (Singapore). Mr. Shek started his career in the fund management industry with Citibank Global Asset Management, Singapore where he was the marketing director.
Mr. Billiet joined ING IM Singapore in October 2011. Before that, he was CEO of ING IM Australia from February 2010. Mr. Billiet has been with ING Group since 1994, and has a broad range of experience in wealth management having worked in product management and sales, financial services, financial planning, private banking and asset management.
