Taiwan’s Jih Sun STIC appoints new chairman

Jih Sun Securities Investment Trust Co (Jih Sun SITC), one of Taiwan’s top domestic fund managers, has promoted general manager David Tong to chairman following the retirement of incumbent Jerry Liu.

The firm’s Deputy General Manager Howard Lin has taken up Mr. Tong’s old post as acting general manager, effective from July 15. Mr. Lin will officially assume the general position once his appointment is approved by the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC).

Mr. Lin is a veteran of Taiwan’s asset management industry. Prior to joining Jih Sun SITC, he worked at Yuanta SITC for 15 years, holding various senior positions including head of planning department, deputy general manager, and general manager.

Jih Sun SITC is one of the leading domestic fund managers in Taiwan with total AUM of around NT$81.92 billion (US$2.73 billion).
