Industry veteran Andrew Economos joins Capital Group

Global investment management firm Capital Group, which has US$1.3 trillion in AUM, has appointed industry veteran Andrew Economos as senior vice president, strategic solutions. He will be based in Hong Kong.

In this newly created role, Mr. Economos will be responsible for institutional, private wealth, and retail distribution for Capital’s business in Asia. His role will include developing strategic solutions for clients, managing distribution, cultivating client relationships and supporting the development of Capital’s Asian businesses. He will also join the firm’s leadership team, which manages the business across Asia Pacific, including Japan and Australia.

Mr. Economos joins Capital Group from JP Morgan Asset Management where, for the past four years, he was managing director of asset management and head of sovereign and institutional strategy, Asia. He has more than 25 years of investment industry experience, including nearly 20 years as a portfolio manager of global and emerging market equities.
