Scott Collison hired as head of alternative sales for Asia at Franklin Templeton Investments

Franklin Templeton Investments has appointed Scott Collison as head of alternative sales, Asia. Reporting to Mark Browning, managing director, Asia, he is responsible for new business development of the group’s alternative products in the region. Based in Singapore, he will work closely with existing regional and country institutional and retail distribution teams, to develop and implement country level strategies to support the growth of Franklin Templeton’s alternative products in Asia.
Mr. Collison brings with him over 20 years of experience in the financial markets, whereby 18 years of his experience has been in institutional investing and in building alternative asset management businesses. Prior to joining Franklin Templeton in 2013, he was the CEO of Talos Strategies, an advisory business for both traditional and alternative asset managers. Mr. Collison founded and managed the Orvent Fund – the second largest Asian hedge fund start up in 2011, and was previously portfolio manager at Millennium Partners in Singapore. He earlier spent over 12 years at Credit Suisse First Boston as an equities and derivatives trader.
