DeAWM brings in Elke Schoeppl-Jost as CIO for Asia Pacific

Elke Schoeppl-Jost has joined Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management (DeAWM) as chief investment officer, Asia Pacific. She is responsible for leading the firm’s active equity, fixed income and multi-asset investment teams across Asia Pacific. Ms. Schoeppl-Jost also represents the Asia Pacific region with respect to DeAWM's global CIO View (a publication which provides various market updates).
Asoka Wöhrmann, co-chief investment officer of DeAWM, said: "Asia Pacific is a key component of our global investment platform. Elke will play an important role in expanding our range of investment solutions that provide direct exposure to APAC markets. She will also ensure that our global strategies benefit fully from the insights and investment ideas generated by our APAC team."
A managing director, Ms. Schoeppl-Jost is based in Hong Kong and Singapore and reports to Sean Taylor, head of emerging market equities, and regionally to Ravi Raju, head of DeAWM in Asia Pacific.
Mr. Raju said: "I am delighted to welcome a professional of Elke's talent and experience to the team. She has a strong track record as an investor in Asia-Pacific markets across asset classes, combined with deep knowledge of client needs."
Ms. Schoeppl-Jost has 15 years of experience in the asset management industry, with a focus on Asian equity portfolio management and research. She joins from BEA Union Investment in Hong Kong, where she was chief investment officer. Prior to moving to Asia in 2008, Ms. Schoeppl-Jost was a senior portfolio manager for Union Investment in Frankfurt, Germany. She began her investment career with Volksbank Investments in Vienna, Austria.
