EIP names Fred Jheon head of beta products

Hong Kong-based asset manager Enhanced Investment Products Limited (EIP) has appointed industry veteran Fred Jheon as head of beta products, taking the helm of the firm’s ETF platform, XIE Shares Trust I (XIE Shares).
Mr. Jheon, who replaces Paul So, will play a pivotal role in new developments related to the firm’s synthetic ETF platform that are expected to be announced over the coming months.
Prior to joining EIP, Mr. Jheon held senior positions within the industry including managing director, head of Asia-Pacific at ETF Securities, and principal, senior portfolio manager at Barclays Global Investors.

Established in 2002, EIP was the first Hong Kong domiciled manager to launch swap-based, synthetic ETFs. XIE Shares offers seven ETFs tracking the local indices of seven emerging Asia countries: India, Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Thailand.
