Ken Rappold to join Aviva Asia as regional CFO

Aviva Asia has announced the appointment of Ken Rappold as regional chief financial officer (CFO). He will join the firm in April 2014 and be based in the company’s regional office in Singapore reporting to Khor Hock Seng, Aviva Asia’s CEO.
Mr. Rappold will focus on providing strategic support to Aviva’s important growth markets in Greater China and Southeast Asia, in line with the company’s “cash flow plus growth” strategy as well as developing Aviva’s finance function in Asia.
Mr. Rappold has over 20 years of insurance experience from across a wide variety of markets. He moved to Asia in 2006 to join AIA, from Allianz’s head office in Munich. During his tenure at AIA he held a number of senior posts including CFO of Thailand and CFO of Korea. He began his career at KPMG, spending nine years in the firm’s Houston, London and Munich offices auditing and advising life and general insurance companies.

Mr. Rappold holds a Master’s Degree in Professional Accounting and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from The University of Texas at Austin. He is also a licensed CPA, CFA Charterholder, FLMI and Certified Financial Risk Manager.
