Lennard Yong to head up Metlife in Hong Kong

Lennard Yong joined MetLife in Hong Kong on January 6 and will become the chief executive officer subject to regulatory approval. Joining the Asia leadership team, he will directly report to Dr. Nirmala Menon, senior vice president and head of designated markets and health, Asia.

In this role, Mr. Yong will be responsible for executing the corporate strategy to achieve profitable growth through diversification as well as ensuring the operational effectiveness of MetLife's Hong Kong business.

Mr. Yong joins MetLife from FWD (formerly ING) as group chief commercial officer, which he joined in 1999 in Australia, and over the years he has steadily risen through the ranks, culminating as CEO of ING Hong Kong and Macau. Before that he was co-CEO of ING Hong Kong and Macau and has also served as its CFO.
