Aviva Investors announced on Thursday (August 30) that it had appointed Brett Jackson as head of institutional business development, Australasia (comprising Australia and New Zealand).
Mr. Jackson will be responsible for implementing the business development strategy for Aviva Investors in the growing markets of Australia and New Zealand, enhancing offerings to institutional clients whilst also building relationships with clients and consultants. He will be based in Melbourne, Australia and will report to Erich Gerth, chief executive Asia Pacific & global business development.
Mr. Gerth said: “Australasia is one of the growth markets within the Asia Pacific region for Aviva Investors’ Institutional business, and our recent AU$500 million (US$516 million) global aggregate strategy mandate win is a good example of the sizeable opportunities that this market can offer us.”
He added: “As such, we are keen to continue building our presence and establish a solid institutional foothold in Australasia as part of our strategy to increase cross-border sales and I’m confident that Brett will help us in achieving our goals. He brings an intimate understanding of both Australia and New Zealand markets, having worked extensively in Australasia for over 22 years, and has a successful track record in building up new institutional client relationships.”
Mr. Jackson joins Aviva Investors from BlackRock Investment Management (Australia) where for the last seven years he was responsible for building strong long-term relationships in the superannuation industry and driving new business growth in Australia and New Zealand.
