Old Mutual Global Investors adds key new appointments to Asian distribution team

Old Mutual Global Investors has bolstered its Hong Kong-based Asian sales team under the guidance and stewardship of Carol Wong, who joined the company in November 2013 as managing director, head of distribution, Asia.
Iris Tsui joined the company on April 1 as a senior sales manager from E Fund Management, one of the top five asset management firms in China, where she was responsible for business development through intermediaries and institutional clients. Prior to that role, Ms. Tsui had been working for both HSBC and Citibank as an investment consultant for over five years, where she had equipped herself with investment products knowledge, analytical and problem solving skills.
Reporting to Kylie Chan, who is also a recent appointment at Old Mutual Global Investors, Ms. Tsui will focus on developing different distribution channels in Asia and to provide best-in-class client service to the company’s partners in this region.
Ms. Chan joined the company in December 2013 as head of sales, Asia having spent over six years working at BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Hong Kong in a number of roles, most recently as head of distribution, Hong Kong and China. Ms. Chan brings around 15 years investment industry experience to Old Mutual Global Investors. Having started her career at Standard Chartered Bank in 1999, Ms. Chan also worked in roles at Kingsway Fund Management and Citibank (Hong Kong) Limited. Reporting to Ms. Wong, Ms. Chan responsibilities at Old Mutual Global Investors are to execute the company’s newly developed strategic distribution plans.
Ms. Wong said: “Old Mutual Global Investors has set ambitious growth targets for myself and my colleagues based in Hong Kong. Asia is an important market for us and we are now focussed on growing our assets under management by distributing through global financial institutions, regional banks and wealth managers, including Old Mutual Wealth.
“I believe that we are making good progress in implementing our plans, especially since I was joined by Kylie in December. The hiring of Iris is another important step for this expansion plan and we will also be adding further support to the Asian sales team over the course of this year.” Ms. Wong is responsible for managing Old Mutual Global Investors’ Hong Kong based team and developing the business strategy for the region.
