Schroder Investment Management (Hong Kong) has launched a fund to invest in Asian equities and fixed income. Known as the Schroder Asian Asset Income Fund, it is a multi asset product that invests in a range of Asia-related high yielding assets, including Asian high yield bonds, Asian high dividend equities and other asset classes. The objective is to provide investors a fixed monthly payout totaling 6% per annum on top of capital gains, if any, from the fund’s performance.
Richard Coghlan, head of multi asset, Hong Kong, Schroders says, “Asia has become the key driver of growth in the global economy and we see this to continue for a long time. The Schroder Asian Asset Income Fund aims to offer investors a steady return from this growth trend while providing protection to downside risks through an active allocation of assets in the portfolio.”
The fund will be actively managed by the Schroders multi asset team in close collaboration with the Asian fixed income and Asian equities teams. The fund can invest 30 to 70% of its assets in Asian high yield bonds, 30 to 70% in Asia high dividend yielding equities, up to 30% in cash and up to 10% in other asset classes, primarily commodities and real estate securities.
The Hong Kong dollar-denominated fund charges an annual management fee of 1.25%.
