Vanguard has appointed Rodney Comegys as head of investments Asia Pacific and head of equity investment group Asia Pacific.
Mr. Comegys, who held a number of different senior positions in the US during his 14-year career with Vanguard, currently leads the ETF trading and index analysis teams, which are part of Vanguard’s Equity Investment Group that manages 79 portfolios and US$1.3 trillion in assets.
Mr. Comegys will relocate to Vanguard’s Australian head office in Melbourne where he will take over the regional role from Gregory Davis, who is returning to Vanguard’s Pennsylvania headquarters to serve as the global head of Vanguard’s fixed income group.
Mr. Comegys will be responsible for the Asia-Pacific equity investment group as well as leading Vanguard’s experienced team of 53 investment professionals in Australia.
Vanguard’s chief investment officer Tim Buckley said: “Over the past couple of years, Vanguard’s Investment Management Group has undergone significant change and growth as it has adapted to the increasingly globalised world of funds management.”
“Our appointment of Mr. Comegys as the regional head in Asia Pacific reflects our adoption of a global strategy that aligns and integrates our investment functions worldwide. As a result, Vanguard will be better able to leverage its significant resources and deliver the best possible outcomes for investors,” he added.
