The Australian Retirement Trust has appointed Mark Gray to its board of directors, and Grant Smith as an adviser to the board’s investment and valuation oversight committees.
The superannuation fund announced the appointments on May 25. They are effective on June 1.
Gray is chair of Australian information and communication technology company Data#3, and also sits on the boards of several government entities, including Queensland Urban Utilities.
Smith has almost 30 years of experience across global investment, strategy, and governance. He was most recently executive chair and senior managing director of Macquarie Asset Management.
“The appointments reflect the fund’s focus on delivering strong and sustained outcomes for members,” according to Helen Rowell, chair of the Australian Retirement Trust.
The Brisbane-based trust manages A$370 billion (US$265 billion) of retirement savings for over 2.4 million members.
