Korea’s Mirae Asset Global Investments has launched an exchange-traded fund in Hong Kong tracking locally listed technology companies.
The Global X Hang Seng TECH ETF is benchmarked against the Hang Seng TECH Index, which mimics the performance of the 30 largest technology companies across the information technology, consumer discretionary, healthcare, industrials and financials sectors.
It offers investors “a broad-based and efficient investment tool to gain access to the innovative tech sector with high growth potential”, theKorean asset manager says in a statement on March 30, when the fund was listed in Hong Kong.
According to Wanyoun Cho, chief executive officer of Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), the new ETF demonstrates the company’s “ commitment to providing innovative investment solutions that meet the evolving needs of its clients in the region”.
With the new fund, the company now has 25 ETFs in Hong Kong.
Seoul-based Mirae Asset Global Investments had over US$198 billion of assets under management as of December 2022.
