HSBC Global Asset Management has announced two senior appointments to its Asia fixed income team, a week after the UK asset manager promoted Cecilia Chan to Asia Pacific chief investment officer.
Elizabeth Allen, currently the head of credit research for Asia Pacific, will become head of Asian fixed income, and Alfred Mui, who is presently head of Asian credit, will be head of Asian fixed income investment management, the asset manager says in a statement on December 21.
The positions are newly created and replace the Asia Pacific fixed income CIO role currently held by Ms. Chan. All the appointments are effective February 1.
“Leveraging our recognised leadership position in the Asian fixed income, I’m confident that these two appointments will help us further expand our Asian fixed income capabilities…,” Xavier Baraton, the company’s global fixed income CIO, says in the statement.
London-based HSBC Global Asset Management had US$568 billion of assets under management as of September 2020.
