Malaysia’s Employees Provident Fund (EPF) has named Mohamad Hafiz Kassim as its next chief investment officer to succeed Rohaya Mohammad Yusof, who is retiring at the end of November, according to local daily Malaysian Reserve.
In a report published on August 22, the daily cites sources as saying the pension fund announced the appointment internally last week, and that it will be effective December 1.
Mohamad Hafiz is currently the EPF’s chief financial officer.
Spokespersons for the pension fund, Malaysia’s largest, did not immediately respond to questions from Asia Asset Management.
The EPF manages retirement savings of private sector employees and the self-employed, with 1.36 trillion ringgit (US$433 billion) of assets under management as of end-June.
