Philippine sovereign wealth fund Maharlika Investment Corp has promoted Kheed Nielsen Ng to a newly-created position as chief investment and operating officer.
Ng, who was previously vice president of Maharlika’s investment management team, will now fully oversee investments, risk management integration, performance evaluation, and alignment with the standards of global peers, the wealth fund says in a statement on February 23.
According to Rafael Consing Jr, the fund’s chief executive officer and president, Ng has a “proven track record of managing and scaling wealth on a global stage” and “possesses the strategic foresight and technical depth essential to driving Maharlika’s investment mandate forward”.
“As Maharlika increases its investment activity, ensuring clear leadership, accountability, and authority within the investment function is critical to delivering on Maharlika’s mandate and meeting stakeholder expectations,” he says.
Ng joined Maharlika in October 2024 from the UK’s Morningside Capital Management, where he was a senior principal.
He also worked for eight years at Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, manager of Canada’s largest pension fund.
