UK asset manager Schroders Plc has tapped Chee Loong Chong from Mercer Investment Solutions Singapore as head of institutional business for Southeast Asia to oversee client strategy and relationships with institutions across the region.
Chong, who was chief executive officer of Mercer Investment Solutions Singapore, will start his new job on January 19 next year.
Schroders announced his appointment in a statement on November 13. It’s not clear if the position is newly created.
Meanwhile, Schroders says Roger Lau, the company’s head of pensions and retirement for Hong Kong, is leaving to “pursue a new opportunity”.
The role will be taken over by Matthew Pang, on top of his existing position as head of institutional business for Hong Kong.
London-based Schroders had around US$1.06 trillion of assets under management as of June 2025.
