State Street Corp.’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Ron O’Hanley is taking on a third role as president of the US custodian bank, while Mostapha Tahiri has been appointed as the new chief operating officer.
They take over the roles from Louis D. Maiuri, who is retiring by early 2024. The appointments are effective January 1.
Maiuri is currently president, chief operating officer, and also head of investment services of State Street.
The company announced the appointments in a statement on October 30. It did not name a replacement for the head of investment services position.
Tahiri is currently head of Asia Pacific, Middle East and North Africa, a role he was promoted to in April. He joined State Street from BNP Paribas in 2020 as Asia Pacific head.
O’Hanley joined the State Street Group from Fidelity Investments in 2015 as CEO of State Street Global Advisors. He became CEO of State Street Corp. in 2019.
Boston-based State Street Corp. had around US$40 trillion of assets under custody and/or administration as of September 2023.
