US consulting firm Mercer has appointed Juckchai Boonyawat as chief executive officer of Mercer Thailand, succeeding Dr. Ake Ayawongs who has moved to a new role at the company’s office in San Francisco.
Mr. Boonyawat was previously managing director of Money Channel, a Thai television channel focusing on economics and investments.
He reports to Mercer Asia CEO Renée McGowan.
According to Ms. McGowan, Mr. Boonyawat’s “leadership skills and experience in health and wealth would drive further growth” of the firm’s business in Thailand.
“With Juckchai leading Mercer in Thailand, we will grow our capacity to deliver on the needs of local businesses and their people. We will be their partners in enabling sustainable growth, creating healthier workforces, and helping their employees become future-ready,” she says in the statement.
Apart from Money Channel, Mr. Boonyawat has also worked as chief distribution officer at Manulife Asset Management (Thailand) Co. Ltd. and as regional assistant vice president and head of sales and marketing for AIA in Thailand.
New York-based Mercer had approximately US$242 billion of assets under delegated management globally as at June 30, 2018, and more than $11 trillion of assets under advisement.
