US fund manager Capital Group has appointed Veronique Cornu as head of digital for the Asia Pacific region, a newly created position in which she will help the company to implement its digital strategy.
The company has also hired Vineeta Rawat as digital editor, another newly created role in which she will work closely with Ms. Cornu. Both are based in Singapore.
Ms. Cornu was previously head of digital for Asia at US insurer MetLife, and head of group digital marketing at Singapore insurer Great Eastern Life before that.
At Capital Group, she reports to Derek Perry, the London-based managing director for digital, the company says in a statement on August 13.
According to Mr. Perry, the company is "delighted to welcome someone with Veronique's calibre to our expanding digital team".
"Capital Group is investing in cutting-edge tools and technologies to support our sales efforts across Europe and Asia, and I look forward to working with Veronique and Vineeta in implementing our innovative digital strategy," he says in the statement.
Heidi Sutton, the company’s managing director of marketing in Asia, adds that the creation of a dedicated digital team in Asia “reflects our commitment to accelerating growth in the region".
"Both Veronique and Vineeta will be valuable additions to the team as we continue to build Capital Group’s brand awareness and deepen client relationships in the strategically important Asian markets," she says.
Ms. Rawat, who has worked at Singapore lender DBS, Swiss investment bank UBS, and US asset manager BlackRock, will focus on improving Capital Group’s international websites, supporting and executing digital communications with clients, and building out its social media and digital presence.
California-based Capital Group had US$1.9 trillion of assets under management as at June 30, 2019.
