Australia’s QBE Insurance Group Ltd has appointed Ronak Shah as chief executive officer of its operations in Singapore, succeeding Karl Hamann who left the company in June.
Mr. Shah reports to Jason Hammond, the CEO of QBE Asia, the company says in a statement on September 11.
According to Mr. Hammond, Mr. Shah, who joined QBE in 2017 as regional head of the financial and professional, and casualty lines of business, has been "instrumental in growing the financial lines portfolio across the region and is no stranger to Asia".
“I am confident that with Ronak’s extensive experience and leadership, he will bring a customer-focused approach to growing our business in Singapore and I am really looking forward to working with him in this new role," he says in the statement.
Prior to joining QBE, Mr. Shah was the regional director of the financial lines group for Asia at London-based insurer JLT Group.
He has also worked in senior positions at Swiss insurer Allied World Assurance Company, and London-based insurance brokerage and advisory firm Willis Towers Watson.
