Cambodia's securities regulator is looking to transform itself into a “digitalised institution" by overhauling its information technology system with the aid of three technology firms.

The Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia (SECC) says the firms – Mobile C&C (Cambodia) Co Ltd, Pathmazing Inc and We Alliance Co Ltd – will provide technological advice and technical assistance to determine the regulator’s IT system requirements within the legal framework.

"The three companies will also inspect the IT system used by licensed companies and develop a digital reporting system for listed companies and licensed companies, as well as transforming the SECC into a digitalised institution," the regulator says a statement on April 13.

There are five companies currently listed on Cambodia’s stock exchange, with US$800.39 million of combined market capitalistion as of end-2019.
