US fund consultancy Morningstar Inc. has named Hortense Bioy to the newly created position of sustainability research director for the Asia Pacific and Europe, Middle East and Africa regions.
Ms. Bioy, a former financial journalist who has worked at Morningstar since 2010, was previously the passive strategies and sustainability research director for Europe.
Based in London, she will report to Jeffrey Ptak, the head of manager research, and work closely with Jon Hale, director of sustainability research for the Americas, Morningstar says in a statement on July 23, when the appointment became effective.
“Given Hortense’s passion for [environmental, social and governance] and our ambitions in this area, we felt now was a logical time to fully dedicate her to sustainability research,” Mr. Ptak says in the statement.
Morningstar says it has started the search for Ms. Bioy’s replacement in the passive strategies team.
