US asset manager Northern Trust Corp has hired Caroline Hwang from JPMorgan Chase as head of client services for Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
She replaces Lily Kwong, who left Northern Trust three months ago to become head of client coverage at Hong Kong index provider Hang Seng Indexes Co. Ltd.
Ms. Hwang will be responsible for managing Northern Trust’s client service team for institutional asset owners, as well as developing and implementing strategies for the three markets she oversees, the company says in a statement on October 14.
Based in Hong Kong, she reports to Michael Wu, Northern Trust’s country executive for the Greater China region.
“Her substantial experience in client service across Asia will enable us to continue to support our clients in reaching their goals,” Mr. Wu says in the statement.
Ms. Hwang was previously head of client services at JPMorgan Chase, and has also worked at Citigroup, PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting, Standard Chartered, HSBC and Deloitte.
Chicago-based Northern Trust had US$1.3 trillion of assets under management and US$12.1 trillion of assets under administration as of end-June 2020.
