New Zealand Superannuation has appointed Kristy Mactaggart to the board of Guardians of the NZ$55 billion (US$40.7 billion) sovereign wealth fund.
She will serve for a five-year term starting April 1.
Mactaggart, a former head of Asia Pacific equity capital markets at Fidelity International, is currently an independent director of local infrastructure investment firm Infratil and a member of the board of advisors of Australian private investment firm BBRC Worldwide.
Mactaggart brings “extensive global capital markets experience, with a particular focus on corporate governance”, NZ Super says in a statement on February 23.
NZ Super Guardians’ Chair Catherine Savage describes Mactaggart as “a well-respected industry leader with a unique global perspective”.
“Her appointment comes at a challenging time in financial markets and we look forward to receiving the benefit of her expertise,” Savage says in the statement.
