UK asset manager Artemis Investment Management has hired Paras Anand from Fidelity International as chief investment officer to replace Matthew Beesley, who is leaving the company on December 31.
Anand, who is currently CIO for Asia Pacific at Fidelity International, starts his new job early next year, Artemis says in a statement on November 29, without specifying the start date. He will be based in London.
According to Mark Murray, senior partner at Artemis, the company is “delighted to have attracted such an experienced CIO”.
“We all look forward to working with Paras as we continue to focus on providing active, differentiated investment solutions which meet our clients’ evolving needs,” he says in the statement.
Anand joined Fidelity in 2012 as CIO for equities, Europe and moved to Singapore in 2018 to become CIO for all asset classes across Asia. He is also a member of Fidelity’s global operating committee. Before Fidelity, he was head of European equities at UK’s F&C Investment Trust.
London-based Artemis had US$39.2 billion of assets under management as of end-October.
