Canada’s RBC Wealth Management has appointed Ignatius Chong as head of enterprise private clients, Asia, a newly created position in which he will be responsible for coverage of the financial needs of ultra-high-net-worth clients.

The wealth management arm of Royal Bank of Canada has also hired Nick Chan as head of private banking, North Asia.

Chong was previously the company’s head of private banking, Greater China, while Chan was deputy chief executive officer and head of family office Asia Pacific at StormHarbour, a securities firm based in New York and London.

Their appointments were effective December 1. Both are based in Hong Kong, and they report to RBC Wealth Management Asia Head Terence Chow, the company says in a statement on December 6.

RBC Wealth Management has around C$1 trillion (US$784 billion) of assets under management.
