Australia’s IMF Investors has appointed Ming Long, the chair of AMP Capital Funds Management, to its board as an independent director.
She will take up the position on November 1 after retiring from AMP Capital at the end of this month, IFM says in a statement on October 12.
According to the firm, Long “will bring her multi-asset class expertise and deep knowledge of international private markets, finance and global strategy”, and this “will help us continue to deliver on our purpose to protect and grow the long-term retirement savings of working people”.
IFM invests on behalf of over 600 pension funds and superannuation funds globally.
Long also sits on the boards of QBE Insurance, the Diversity Council of Australia, and the Committee for Economic Development. She is also on the steering committee of the Climate Governance Initiative with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Melbourne-based IFM, which was established by a group of Australian industry pension funds in 1990, had around US$129 billion of assets under management as of June 2021.
