India’s PIVOT Management Consulting, a specialist in the securities services space, has launched a division providing governance and compliance advisory services.
According to Chief Executive Officer Viraj Kulkarni, it was a “necessary” move.
“Given the increased complexities, higher aspirations of PIVOT’s clients to grow their franchise, [and] the widening array of services we provide, it was felt necessary to add this vertical to provide integrated solutions,” Kulkarni tells Asia Asset Management in an email interview. “Our aspirations are to make a positive and growing impact in the space.”
The Mumbai-based consulting firm is targeting the new services mainly at mid-to-large financial institutions globally.
“Our target segment is those who invest in good governance, thought leadership as a policy and process,” Kulkarni says.
The division is led by Rajeev Uberoi, who moved to PIVOT after more than a year as general counsel and group head of legal and compliance at Mumbai-based IDFC First Bank.
He also worked for five years at Standard Chartered as regional head of operational risk for India and South Asia.
“I am delighted that he has chosen to guide the newly-created division. He brings a wealth of knowledge and best practices that will benefit the institutional segment, leading to greater good and benefit to clients and industry,” Kulkarni says.
