Singapore state investment company Temasek Holdings and UK family office Richardson Family are investing S$1.25 million (US$1 million) in Co-Axis, a digital impact investment marketplace.
Established in Singapore last year, Co-Axis connects funders such as family offices, companies and foundations to social enterprises, charitable organisations and blended finance projects to pursue impact investment opportunities.
Temasek committed S$1 million to Co-Axis through Catalytic Capital for Climate and Health (C3H), an investment vehicle co-owned by Temasek Trust and DBS Foundation. The balance S$250,000 is from Richardson Family.
Co-Axis, which announced the investment in a statement on May 7, says the investors will co-fund impact investment opportunities focused on climate and health.
C3H backs “bold, scalable solutions in climate, health, and their intersection”, according to Ryan Tan, head of the digital marketplace.
He says catalytic capital plays a “vital role in derisking early-stage opportunities and unlocking additional funding”, and that by harnessing Co-Axis and “a collaborative ecosystem, we can accelerate capital deployment and scale impact where it matters most”.
