US asset manager State Street Globa Advisors (SSGA) has formed a strategic partnership with an Indian model portfolio platform called smallcase to widen distribution of its SPDR exchange-traded funds in India.
Bangalore-headquartered smallcase is a digital investment platform for stocks and ETFs.
According to SSGA, the move provides a “strategic distribution opportunity” for SPDR ETFs by being featured on smallcase’s platform and broadening access for Indian investors seeking exposure to global investments.
The US asset manager will also provide “strategic support” for smallcase’s plan to expand globally, and explore ways in which the global wealth services of parent State Street Corporation can help with that move, SSGA says in a statement on May 16.
“India remains a priority market for SSGA, and we are impressed by the innovation smallcase brings to the investment ecosystem,” says Yie-Hsin Hung, chief executive officer of the Boston-based firm, which managed around US$4.67 trillion of assets as of March 2025.
