US asset manager Nuveen has launched a dedicated global infrastructure investment platform to tap into opportunities created by an estimated US$94 trillion of infrastructure investment needs through 2040 from energy transition, digital transformation, and replacement of ageing infrastructure in developed markets.
The platform builds on Nuveen’s existing $340 billion of assets across real estate, infrastructure, private capital and specialisations in leveraged finance and private placements, the company says in a statement on October 2.
According to Nuveen, it positions the firm to capture opportunities with integrated expertise spanning sustainable real estate financing, clean energy development, infrastructure credit, and digital infrastructure equity investments.
The platform is headed by Jessica Bailey, who was previously chief executive officer of Nuveen Green Capital, the company’s sustainable real estate financing unit. She reports to Saira Malik, Nuveen’s chief investment officer.
Chicago-based Nuveen is the asset management arm of Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America, with around $1.3 trillion of assets under management as of August 2025.
