The Singapore Exchange (SGX) has launched the second set of benchmarks developed in collaboration with China Securities Index Co. Ltd, the index provider for the Shanghai bourse.
The new CSI SGX Asia 100 Index offers broad-based exposure to Asia’s largest listed companies, and the CSI SGX Asia 100 Dividend Focus Index gives investors exposure to Asia’s top dividend paying companies, the Singapore bourse says in a statement on November 13.
According to Ng Yao Loong, head of equities at SGX, global investors are seeking differentiated exposure to Asia and the new benchmarks “bring the region’s major economies into one transparent, rules-based framework, with clear criteria and methodology”.
The SGX kicked off the collaboration with China Securities Index last year with the introduction of the CSI SGX Emerging Asia Technology Index.
