The Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) has appointed Darren Yip as interim chief executive officer while it searches for a permanent replacement for Helen Lofthouse, who left in February.
Yip, who is the bourse’s group executive, markets and listings, will assume the interim CEO role on May 29.
The ASX announced his appointment in a statement on April 30.
Yip has worked at the ASX since 2023 and has more than 20 years of experience in global financial markets. According to the bourse, he will provide “strong leadership and continuity” while it looks for a permanent CEO.
“The global search for a new CEO is progressing, with candidates demonstrating a strong track record of leadership capability,” the ASX says.
