Thailand’s Government Pension Fund (GPF) has appointed Arsa Indaravijaya as acting secretary-general as it searches for a permanent replacement for Songpol Chevapanyaroj, who left in February.
Arsa has been deputy secretary-general and chief investment officer of the civil service pension fund since 2020.
Songpol, the previous secretary-general, is now president and chief executive officer of state-owned Government Savings Bank.
Arsa joined the fund in 2016 as assistant secretary-general of its investment strategy and research group.
There was no official statement on his new appointment. The GPF’s board member page on its website was updated to show his title as the acting head.
According to a person familiar with the matter, the search for a permanent secretary-general is still ongoing.
“The GPF board has been looking at several candidates, internal and external candidates. It may take a few months to select the next secretary-general,” he tells Asia Asset Management on condition of anonymity.
Spokespersons for the pension fund did not immediately respond to questions.
The GPF managed 1.49 trillion baht (US$46.87 billion) of assets as of end-2025.
